Provost's Distinguished Lecture: Dilma Rousseff is an economist who served as president of Brazil from 2010-2016. She was first woman to have held the Brazilian presidency. Before becoming president, Rousseff was Bazil's minister of energy and then chief of staff to president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (2003-2010). Learn more about her lecture here.

Provost's Distinguished Lecture: Frans B.M. de Waal, Ph.D. a biologist and primatologist known for his work on the behavior and social intelligence of primates. His lecture will review how empathy comes naturally to a great variety of animals, including humans. Learn more about his lecture here.
