First-Generation College Student Guidebook

Official transcripts may be requested online, by mail, or in person. The fee to order official transcripts is $7 per transcript. Transcript requests take 3-5 business days to process and mail, unless there is a hold on your university record. Please be aware that the process may take longer during peak periods (i.e. beginning and end of each semester). Transcripts are sent via the regular United States Postal Mail Services.

The Educational Opportunity Program assists low income college students. There are many comprehensive services available to assist students in reaching academic success and graduation. At SDSU some of the main benefits include:

Student Disability Services at SDSU serves over 1,290 students with visible and invisible disabilities by providing academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities. The office of financial aid and scholarships is responsible for preparing and communicating information on financial aid. This office helps students apply for and receive all types of financial aid.
No appointment needed. Financial aid counselors are available by phone and at the front desk 10:00am to 3:00pm every weekday. AidLink gives you access to your latest SDSU financial aid information 24hours a day 7 days a week. Check AidLink before calling for immediate answers to questions regarding your financial aid and scholarship applications.

A variety of clinical services are provided at Student Health Services by fully licensed and certified health professionals who are dedicated to the college community. No-cost or low-cost medical services are available for preventative care, health counseling, immunizations, and psychiatric treatment. Specialty care services including Dentistry, Optometry, and Orthopedics are available for additional fees.

The International Student Center serves as a crossroad for students from around the world seeking educational opportunities at SDSU, and for SDSU students seeking educational opportunities in other countries. ISC offers a variety of programs to help international students succeed, and many ways for international students to get involved including:

  • Intercultural Ambassador Program
  • ISC Mentor Programs
  • Employment Workshops
  • International Student Association

Permits are required at all times even including evenings, weekends and holidays. There are different permits for different locations. The symbols on all parking lot and structure signs represent the permits that are valid in that lot or structure.Permits are non-transferrable and may not be shared, altered or counterfeited. Parking in violation of the parking regulations will result in a citation.

The Office of Testing Services, within the division of student affairs, supports and enhances student success by providing innovative, high-quality test administration for SDSU and off campus constituents. Testing Services is responsible for administering the University paper and pencil testing and computer-based testing programs; consultation with administration, faculty, staff and students matters related to tests or testing; and providing test-related services as the need arises.
